Privacy

Effective 12 October 2026. This covers the Fridge Gallery iPhone app and this website.

The short version

Fridge Gallery is built so your children's art stays with you. There is no account and no Fridge Gallery server. Drawings, names and captions stay on your iPhone unless you choose to share them, and we never see them.

What stays on your iPhone

The drawings and projects you scan or photograph, their titles and captions, your children's names, birthdays and colours, and your settings are stored on your iPhone, inside the app. We don't receive any of it.

Because it all lives on your iPhone, deleting the app deletes it too, so export first if you want to keep a copy.

Spoken captions

When you tap the microphone, Apple's speech recognition turns what you say into text on the iPhone itself. The app only uses on-device recognition: if your iPhone can't do that for your language, the microphone is hidden and you type instead. The recording isn't kept or sent anywhere.

Sharing and exporting

Art leaves your iPhone only when you choose: when you share a piece, save to Photos, export a zip, or share a book PDF. Where it goes then is up to you and the app you share it with.

Usage counts and crash reports (PostHog)

To learn which parts of the app help families, the app sends a few short events to PostHog, on its EU servers: for example that the app was opened, that some pages were filed (how many, and whether a caption was added), that an export finished, or that the Family plan screen was shown. Events carry counts, yes-or-no answers and a few fixed words such as "zip" or "yearly". They never contain images, titles, captions or names.

PostHog also receives the basics of the device: its model, the iOS and app versions, the language setting and the time zone. If the app crashes or hits an error, a report goes to the same place with file paths removed. Location lookup, screen recording and tap tracking are all switched off. Like any internet service, PostHog sees the IP address each report arrives from; with location lookup off, it isn't used to work out where you are.

All of this is tied to a random identifier PostHog creates for the app on your iPhone, not to your name, email or Apple Account. We don't use it for advertising and we never sell it.

Purchases (RevenueCat)

If you subscribe to the Family plan, Apple takes the payment. RevenueCat, the service that tells the app what you've unlocked, receives your purchase history from Apple (which plan, when it started and renews) under an anonymous app user ID. It also stores the random PostHog identifier, so we can tell whether people who use a feature go on to subscribe. We never see your card details.

This website

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies. Like any website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) for a short time, for security.

Children

Fridge Gallery is made for parents and carers to use. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children: their art and names stay on your iPhone.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
